Hampton Inn Virginia Beach-Oceanfront South

One of the best hotels I've stayed at VA Beach. Rooms are very clean and surprising doesn't smell like animals which are allowed at the hotel. The oceanview is great. The location is great and more on the quieter end of the beach. Breakfast was simple and good. They usually have eggs, a breakfast meat and potatoes most mornings along with oatmeal, cereal options, fruit and juices. There's garage parking for $10 a night which isn't bad compared to what other hotels charge. I plan to stay here the next time I visit.

We had a very nice stay last weekend. However, there were some things that were not great that could use improvement. More details below. The hotel seems to have gotten a recent renovation. The bathrooms were nice, the hardwood floor, and some other nice touches. However, some things were either not done properly, or not done at all. See pictures. Breakfast was your average Hampton breakfast. Nothing crazy. I did appreciate that they opened the extra conference room to accommodate the big crowds for labor day weekend. The whole hotel with 10 floors running on two elevators was definitely not practical. I know it’s probably very difficult/maybe impossible to add another one, but we had to wait 10/15 minutes some times to use it which was not great. Service was generally good. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Didn’t feel any difference for being a Diamond. besides the goodie bag. I asked for an hour late checkout and I was denied, but to be fair they were sold out so… The biggest issue for us was the AC. It was extremely loud. I’ve experienced some loud ACs in hotels, but this was next level. It woke me up several times at night when it kicked in. It could seriously use maintenance/replacing. We had two separate rooms and both had the issue, so it wasn’t an off thing. I hope to see the minor issues addressed and definitely the AC situation better, and I would stay there again in the future.

We had an amazing stay. The room was clean with lots of natural light. The view from the balcony on the ocean gives it a plus. Amazing! The breakfast was delicious and various. The staff was welcominng and friendly. The gym was clean as well, but not much equipped. They also have a little pool.

Arrived to the most friendly and accommodating guest service representative. She was absolutely amazing. Rooms are clean and new feeling. Very comfortable stay. We came for the light show. You can see a good amount of it from the hotel balcony. The hotel is located at the very start of the light show. Will come back down again

I REALLY loved this hotel. I usually stay at the Hampton North Beach, but chose to be close to the holiday light show this time. That was the absolute best decision I could've made. The room was spacious and beautifully appointed. The LVP flooring was a plus because you know it's much easier to clean and maintain than carpet. It had multiple mirrors, a work space, and a comfy chair with TV tray. That means that there are enough chairs and tables for two people to sit comfortably and eat. The beds were queens not full . The view was spectacular! I wanted to be close to the Xmas lights, and we were actually right at the beginning of the driveline! My kids could literally go out and walk the light line without having to pay That's a huge plus because its like $40 per car now. The rooms also have a view of the ocean/beach LOL. The hotel is on the main strip. You can walk to the Dome, the amusement park, and likely even the Waterpark. It's also within walking distance of the marina where the dolphin/whale watching tours depart. Anywho... I wholeheartedly recommend the hotel. I gave it 4stars for service because one of the desk agents wasn't very friendly. Everyone else was super nice, tho.

Tee at the front desk made us feel special at the beginning of our stay. She was very attentive to details and tried to satisfy our needs the best she could. The room was clean and well kept and overall the staff seems to be friendly

The hotel room was very clean, and the ocean view was great. The staff and service were also good — everyone we encountered was nice and professional. One front desk employee didn’t seem to be having the best day, but she still helped us out, so it wasn’t a big issue. Breakfast was good, just a standard hotel breakfast. I can’t say much about the location since the city was preparing for a winter storm, so there wasn’t much to see or do during our stay.

Stayed this past weekend here, 3 nights. Was a great stay. Clean rooms, good parking for 5th floor. Friendly staff. It was farther down than where all the chaos us so that was kinda nice too. But could drive or walk north on the boardwalk to find more things to see and do. Will stay again!
